800 ODD JOBS does not charge for a phone consultation. Many of the odd jobs and small jobs that our customers inquire about can be resolved in minutes upon site inspection and diagnosis. When we can resolve the small job in a matter of minutes and be on our way we simply charge a nominal trip charge to cover time and expense of the owner operator to and from the customer to cover our time taken away form other business opportunities.

Our goal is to build a lasting relationship so that you become our customer for all your small jobs and odd jobs. We want you to trust that we will always attempt to thoroughly understand the problem by asking relevant questions, then when onsite diagnose the problem, and give you and “estimate” of the time to perform the job. Assuming you have a problem at all. If its just task performance of an odd job or small difficult to resource job we can quote hourly rates by phone.

Many handyman services quote only fixed rate jobs. While this works well for the business if often results in an overcharge to the customer. We prefer to work at a reasonable and affordable hourly rate. In this manner we are fairly compensated for our time and expertise and you the customer pay no up-charge for business risk and additional profit margin which is buried in all fixed rate quotes.

Should you require a fixed rate bid for your small job or odd job, the owner operator may provide such a quote but it generally includes the up-charge for unknown business risk and unpredictable delays. Most customer prefer to work with us by the hour and can check in to see that the work is being performed carefully, but expeditiously so that both the 800 ODD JOBS owner operator and the customer get what they expect and build upon the business relationship with no surprises.

The hourly rates for our Independently owned franchises are available directly from the Owner Operators of the local franchise serving you area. These rates are based upon cost of living (New York City versus a small town in the mid-west) and the industry competitive rates for similar professional services.
